Oil route for the 2.2S Front mounted oil cooler

    Hello,

I'm planing to install the oil filter console and front mounted oil cooler on my 2.2S and I have a couple of questions.

    1. Does the oil coming from the front mounted oil cooler passes through the oil filter before returning to the oil tank/engine?
    2. What is the "best" way to clean the copper oil lines for the front oil cooler?

    Thanks
    Marlon

Yes , it goes through the filter but some of it may bypass the filter because of the bypass in the filer , and the lines are brass not copper .

Richy, I've been looking at the oil filter console and it seems the oil from the front oil cooler goes to the oil tank without passing through the filter. Can someone confirm if the oil flow in my diagram is correct (photo is not mine, but the drawing is). I'm connecting the front oil cooler in my car and I want to make sure no dirt or debris goes to the engine. Thanks.

I found the answer from the good ole technical manual. There is indeed no filter for the oil coming from the front oil cooler on its way back to the oil tank.

The oil flow direction in the drawing is correct.
    Thanks for the help anyways.

Hello mar2mar , I studied this again and you are correct . It certainly is logical , the filter is always much warmer than the front cooler lines . So good luck cleaning those lines .
