    7" Rims

I'm running 7" Fuchs, front and back, with 205/60x15 on my newly acquired '72S. I don't know which wheels they are, except they are definitely 7". There is no rubbing. They seem to fir (tight) but perfectly. The fenders don't seem to be flared.

Paul, that web site doesn't include one important spec, the width of the tire at its widest point. Maybe it varies with the tire and is not necessarily a function of the other dimensions. Any thoughts on that?

Did you mean the Miata tire calc site? That is concerned mostly with rolling diameter, to calculate gearing and speedometer changes, and not overall width, which is what you have to worry about when fitting a tire in a cramped wheel well.

The OA width of a tire in a given size varies radically from one manufacturer to another. It is usually given as "section width" in the tire specs, as opposed to "tread width". Most of the dimensions of currently produced tires can be found in the specs at the Tire Rack website, or the manufacturer's website if Tire Rack doesn't carry the brand or model.

    Thanks, TT

Yes, "section width" is the spec I'm looking for. I'll check the Tire Rack site.
