Thread: tires for 69s

Gawd guys, I've been surfing several tire related websites this afternoon. Have sent e mails, waiting for responses. But afraid you're right. No more A008P tires. So, anybody know if there is any longer a 195/65 tire out there with the Z speed rating? If you have 6" wide Fuchs alloys? You will be happy with 195/65...in my opinion. And yes, 6" was standard on '69 S models. One sure way to tell is to pull a wheel. Look at the stampings on the back. Either "6J" or "7J" will be there if they are Fuch alloys. If not, aftermarket cast (as opposed to forged) wheels. Non original wheels have caused problems because casting is not as stong as forging.

By the way, let us know your opinion of the db yokos...I'm still thinking about my next set of 195/65.

Okay, just got an e mail from Yoko. You're right. No more A008P in 195/65. They suggested I go to 205/60VR15 AVS intermediate. But I don't like the look of that size in the early 911 wheelwells. So, maybe the db, maybe another brand. Glad I have plenty of time to think about it...

Thanks. I will stay tuned. Also noted on the web that Pirelli makes the P6000 in a 195/65 but think it's V rated like the db yokos. Anybody out there have experience with the P 6000?

Thinking of the P 6000? Man, like you, I'm searching. Sure nice of you to do the research. Think I'm a year or so away from having to make the choice. Db? What specifically didn't you like?

I'm going to order the Michelin Pilot XGT V4 at 205/60/VR15, its 24.7" dia and will is designed for a 6" wheel.

    195x65's

I just found some V rated Dunlop SP5000's at Tire Rack. I have an old set of Yoko's on my '72 E that need replacing and I'm looking at these.

    Here's a link: www.tirerack.com/tires/Co..._rating=VR

I was searching for all season H or V rated tires and this is what they offer.

    Hope this helps.
