Seeking input on H1 buckets: painted or zinc plated?

I believe that H1 buckets were originally painted and possibly were zinc plated at some point. By far most of the original H1 buckets I have seen (a lot of them by now) were painted but I have seen only a few that were zinc plated. I'm trying to determine if and when Bosch started using zinc plated buckets on their H1's. Could there possibly be a correlation between when Porsche started galvanizing and when parts suppliers started zinc plating?

If you happen to have original H1's on your car I would very much like to know if they are painted or zinc plated, along with the year of your car.

    Thanks,
    John

mine are 004, yours 001. Might be something else for John to look into and see if it correlates. Of course the lenses differ too.

in my car from 1970 H1 are zinc plated: car had few owners and is accident free, I have no reasons to suspect they are not original with the car.
    No time to take pictures.

I own a used spare set too.
    It is zinc plated.
Unfortunately just adjustment label on it.

You can match the part numbers on the labels to the info on the Bosch tradition website.

0 301 811 001 is shown in the equipment list for MY65-68. 001, 002, 003 iterations of the buckets are shown on the MY69 list. 004 was apparently a later version.

The H1s on my car have been there since July 1969 and they are zinc plated

John, I've had early, late, clapped out, original excellent and NOS. All were plated.

I've never seen a set of Bosch H1s in hand or advertised that were original with painted buckets.
