The oil level gauge is jumping from bottom to top today. Sometimes it stays at the top peg for a minute then bounces between top and bottom in quick bursts.

Is this a short? loose connection? bad of failing sender?

Anyone have a hint as to the cause.

I'll be preping the car for storage this weekend and would like to put it away with everthing working. The plan is to start at the gauge and work back to the oil tank. Any advice would be great.
