    Question Q re: B&B headers on 2.2

    Hi,

posting this here, no luck on PP bbs. Maybe someone knows.....

I want no heat headers on my 2.2S....are there any problems with fitment? I want a nice easy install(for my mech.!!) without any hassles...also a nice muffler. Preferably stainless.

    TIA!

Regular steel headers (no heater boxes) for track cars are available from many sources (probably PP as well). SSI might offer their stainless steel heat exchangers without the heater boxes. If so, they might be a little lighter than plain steel. For longevity with steel, you can ceramic coat them - inside and out.

Did you see that here is a fellow named Garrett selling a nice set of early headers on the Pelican board right now for $300 (asking price) in the classifieds?

The only problem with fitment is that you want to match your port size, which probably means 1-3/8" ID tubing, and you want to make sure you get the thin-flange (early style) headers, or you will be changing out all your exhaust studs on the heads.

ps- there is a set of early headers and megaphones on Ebay right now w/ a starting bid of $250 and $300 "Buy it Now" price. Click here to see them
