    67 911s vs 69 911s

I guess I did not state my Question very well. I have all the parts at home to do the conversion even sone steel flairs that I can weld on. It would just be my time and effort to do it.
So do they run in the same class in vintage racing?

Grover, I'm not sure on this one. I believe there is more than one "vintage racing" organization out there, and they all have their own rules. ONe way to find out would be to get the rules from the vintage race group you plan on joining...

    Grover,

In VARA (Vintage Auto Race Assoc.) as far as I understand, the 2.0-L 69' 911 falls in the same catigory as the 2.0-L 67' however no RS/SC flairs are aloud. Also 60 sreies tires are the rule.... Examples: Early S members, Dr. Robert Grant's 69' 911-S and Fred Trueman's 67' 911-S.

In HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing) West ... I see both short and long wheelbace 911's in the 2 liter challange. ... All 2.0-L and the bodywork is a little more forgiving to fit the spec Kuhmo DOT race tires.

So bottom line, if you keep your 911 a 2.0-L AND do not run RS/SC flairs, they are many more class options for you to run vintage events. If you run a BIG motor, flairs, and big tires ... the options are narowed down pertty much to the exibition class.

Maybe John Dilger or Fred Truman can shed more light on this issue... they both race vintage and can be reached through the contact page on our web site.

    Hope this helps,
