    AJ USA Door Skins

Anyone have any experience installing the complete doors skins that AJ USA is selling? I'm assuming the factory skin is crimped on and spot welded. If you've done the job, how difficult was removal and installation.

    Thanks

I haven't used them, but I've always thought this would be a good combination with a fiberglass door frame.

I've used them before..... I would swear they're factory and not repo.... AJ probably getts them direct from the OE mfg.

So what's the procedure for removing the factory panel and installing the new panel? Difficult job?

It seems it would be a PITA. But now I'm in the middle of replacing my drivers side door post area. Thank God for Restoration Design and a mig welder.

I used the AJ-USA door skins and they were great... my buddy did the welding and it was a breeze (according to him) and they came out great. I swore that they were factory also and he was expecting a nightmare, but the welding was simple.

    Kevin,

I talked to restoration and the post they sell is OE from Porsche and like Porsche the part is from a 993 (the original part is discontinued). Did you modify the part or did you just leave it as it comes. I opted for removing the post from a wrecked car. (Thanks TRE)

I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.

I'm welding the door post in today. I found a used partial post and 1/4 panal which I'll use for the rest of the job. BTW the post from RD is almost a perfect fit. If all goes well I should be finished by Saturday except for paint. Also had to replace a partial rocker panel[another perfect thanx to Restoration Design]. All I need is a left fender and think I'm done??????????? Just getting her all ready Porsche Parade down here.
