Replacement of Fender Well Fume Box

    Hi,

At AutoX this weekend, one of my competitors noticed a drip from the front of my 911. On examination, it was fuel and was coming from a huge hole in the vapor chamber in the driver fender. I got a replacement but it is from a later year, and, naturally, it is a differnet shape than the original one that disintegrated.

My car is a 1973.5 and the box is from a 88. How do I install?

    TIA

    Ah Harry, you'll engineer something!

You know, even though I can, I like to look at other ideas to see if I am really on to something. .

    pwd72s,

Thanks for letting the cat out of the bag.

How am I going to avoid original thought without sucking in some other folks.

Took a look at some other, later P-cars with the same style tank and it looks like I will not be able to duplicate the factory setup as they moved a bunch of stuff around.

Another step away from the concours path.

Yeah, I was wondering if the tank redesign had something to do with those ugly bellows bumpers...

I stopped by Marque Motors today to look at how the factory did the later install of this tank. According to Kurt, the new bumpers, supports, and relocation of the washer tank all caused serious changes to the layout of that area.

Yet another reason to hate those things!
