    8080 = 924 or 925 body color?

    I have a 1971 T that its almost ready for paint, it is mark with 8080-H and its a C program car, from what I have found out in 1970 they made a 924 and a 925 silver metallic optional color but in 1971 the color bock only gives me a 8080 color code but the 925 sample that was given to me does not Mach the OEM color that's on the car. So this it's getting confusing to me I don't have a 924 sample of the silver metallic but I am starting to think that a 8080 it's either a 924 or a color of its own that Standox does not have in there catalog?

    Here's the 8080 formula in Glasurit 55:

    Base Amount Cumulative UNIT
    352-91 173.8 173.8 g
    M99/10 481.7 655.5 g
    M99/12 247.3 902.8 g
    A137 6.4 909.2 g
    A974 5.6 914.8 g

    My information suggests 924 for code 80 in 1970 but not 1971. I'm not sure if there is any documentation of the transition from 914 to 925 and then to 936 that is definitive.

    924 is lacquer and 925 is enamel. Evidently, you could get either in '71 only. Later cars were all 925.

    Dave- What source shows 8080 as a code for 924 in '70, and 924 as an option in '70 but not '71?

    H, of course, designates the paint manufacturer. I don't remember which manufacturer H is, but not Glasurit! Perhaps "H" only made enamel or lacquer, and that would sort our your dilemma and perhaps explain the color discrepancy.

    Porsche has a 80 code from 82 to 2011. You think that it will it be the same?
