    73 S With Afterburner

    Last night I was driving the '73 S home after AutoX on I-90. My wife was following behind. I wanted to see if she wanted to open it up, but instead, she slowed down to about 45 in a 70 zone. I slowed to her speed and then nailed it up to 85. She said the a 2 to 3 foot flame shot out the exhaust for the entire acceleration - about 10 seconds. She said not only was it impressive but it scared the s**t out of her. I know the car was running a little rich because of black smoke, but little did I expect a non-turbo after-burner. This should impress the hell out of the rice crowd as well as be a great cop magnet. Is this common? Should I apply for a patent? Me thinks it is running far too rich but needest an opinion or two about a well worn motor.
