Right rear inner fender question... what is it for?

No part number on this one, appears to be the same as many others I have from several aspects, but the openings in this one and the details are much different.

Anyone know what this fits? No part number.

    Thanks in advance!

Described as "wheel case. rear, right. Fits 911T and E. Don't know why they list a separate part number for a 911S and it also includes a Carrera 2.7. That doesn't make any sense to me.

    Ciao

Hi Eric, it can be used on the S as well, I have fitted one on the past. In fact I may need another if this one comes up for sale?

    Thanks in advance

    Jim,
I checked back into my 1972/73 parts book and found 3 part numbers. One shows for "alle", and then one for T/E, and then one for S/RS. So what's the difference??

I appreciate the replies, thank you! Great knowledge base here, and thankful they will help. Was hoping it was for a 911R, oh well.

Alan, I think this one has been committed to, I'll get back to you.

Those numbers came from the 72/73 Parts manual. I'm thinking that they just made a mistake in not checking off the 911S column for 72. There should be a notation as to fitment (72 vs 73) but there isn't. The number given for a 911S is obviously for a 73YM car as it is the same as a Carrera RS. Just relying on the parts manual without, actually, knowing what the part looks like can lead to lots of confusion. I'll bet there were a few body shops that got the completely wrong inner fender from the dealer and were told that the part they received was correct according to the parts manual. We all know that if it is written in a Porsche publication or you heard it on the interweb that is has to be true.

    Regards

    Jim
