    Retactable seatbelts for 69S

Am replacing my stock seats with some nice 911R seats from Vintage Seats and would like to switch to some retactable inertia seatbelts. The stock belts are 34 years old, attached to the seats and are really a pain. So I now have some belts from P & E Products and am having some doubts about the instalation. The inertia reels are open with no covers and will be exposed below the B pillar near the floor. P & E Parts says that this is how they came from the factory. Anybody have experience with these in a pre 72 car? Is the look offensive? Do they function as they should or should I stick with a new set of stock belts? Pictures of a coupe with inertia reel installed would be much appreciated.

I have retractable inertia belts with open inertia reels on my 69 911E that were taken from a late '70's 911 and professionally installed so the belts connect directly to my seats just as the old stock belts did.

The new safety belts work great and I like the open intertia wheel look.

I got rid of the stock safety belts because they were uncomfortable, binding, and (in my opinion) a general safety hazard.

I'd post a picture but I've never figured out how to reduce my digital photo jpeg file size low enough to do that. Sorry.

    Sandy,
Any problem with dirt fouling up the mechanism? I was worried that with the reel mounted low and without a cover that it would be difficult to maintain. Agree completely about the stock belts. Sorry you can't get a picture.

No problems with dirt so far. I've been using them for about six months. My only problem is my 3 year old son who when riding in the rear seat loves to fiddle with the intertia reel.
