Yes lock was option for both models, Coupe and Targa.
I recall at least for some MY, it was standard on Targa.
Will add the option list for proof.
Targa had increased theft problems, due to the triangle side window still continued to be in use.
Thiefs would just turn that window to get access to the interior/door opener and then open the trunk too.
The triangle side window was abandoned for those theft reasons in any Coupe for Model Year 1969 but for Targas, it was needed for additional interior mist ventilation, since they had more a tendency to get misted windows.
By 1969 they added also the 3 vertical vents at the Targa hoop but still needed to keep the triangle side window, in use even for Model Year 1973.

I wonder if any ModelYear 1968 (Coupe or Targa) has a lockable front deck lid.
Anyone has a 1968 car with it?
In any of the three 1968 accessory lists i have, one cannot find it.

Only by 1969 ModelYear and onwards one can find it as a option (Coupe) and standard on any Targa.
1969:
(Option 9213, Standard "S" on Targa, optional "X" for Coupe)
1971:
(Option 415, Standard "Serie" on Targa)

I find most 1967 and 1968 Targa have an SG key code on the Kardex, but no coupe in my list.

Maybe a front deck lock wasn't an option on coupes before 1969. It's definitely in the parts catalogs for Targas before 1969.
901.511.070.40 "lock" was used up to VIN 11850035 on the 911S (the 35th 1968 911S Targa and similar very early 1968 VINs on the other Targas) and 901.511.070.41 "lock" was used after that.

Agree on above.
Could be that only by Model Year 1969, a lockable front lid was optional for Coupe.

Prior to 1969, the lid lock was probably a standard feature on the Targa, therefore not on the options list. Thus for 1969 it appeared on the list as an option for coupes. This scenario makes the most sense to me with available info.

. . . option code = ?
There was one vehicle discussed on The Registry that has this option --- 9113300113 . . .
http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...her-911S/page3
A small 'flair' made to the rear quarters --- referred as '2.5' . . . but even the meaning of the reference isn't clear/agreed upon
