Hehe... That's it then! I'll pick up the gear lube today and post a FR soon!

Actually I'm tempted to use their engine oils too. It's way cheaper than Mobil and the brochores claim it's as good?

Personally, I've used it in my VW Beetles and I like it, but I don't want to fool with the Porsche.

I was running mineral in the VW, till one day, I put in Mobil 1. The whole engine was different! Lighter, more eager to rev... When the oil change was due, I put in Royal Purple and I dare say, no change in feeling, so hehe... My testing is as scientific as that. :-)

    Will post a FR soon.

SprintStar that's correct, it's the clutch type limited slips that need the friction modifier to prevent chatter...if you have a Quaife or other torsen type limited slip you're best to use an oil without friction modifier.

Thanks Jason! My next question is nearly off-topic but I'd ask anyway.

Which is better and for what purpose? The clutch type or the torsen type?

I imagine when someone says a 40% lock LSD means that for every 10 turns outside, the inner wheel will turn 4 turns? As compared to a 100% lock which has both wheels turning at same speed?

Now, can a torsen LSD have similar lock? They only lock when slip is sensed?

Gosh.. I'm really confused. I've read many websites over the past few months but no definitive answer.

Hope you can unravel the riddle for me. Thanks!

I'd probably suggest a call to Paul Guard of Guard Transmission as he is "the man" on this sort of stuff. I can tell you that he suggests clutch type limited slips for track cars and torsen types for street cars.

That's weird...here in the USA, Mobil 1 oil is much less expensive than Royal Purple. My local Wal-Mart carries 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 for $18.88...
