Thread: R Gruppe to Daytona

    I will try!!!

    HEY YOU GUYS!!!!

Hey! This posting works now! Great!
Hard to imagine from back here...(freaking 'winter'-cold Germany ...Porsche motherland)...
but I really would like to try to win the 'prize' for the farthest travel there...
Can't promise yet -according to my unknown work schedule, but I will follow the proceeds!
    The GOOD news is...
My car made it back here with me -in one piece, but it was quite some adventure. Yesterday I picked it up from Stuttgart airport, and on the way back to the barn we got in a SNOWSTORM!!! We had about 3 inches of snow ON the freeway!!! Luckily my tow vehicle was a true 'Porsche supportive' Audi A6 Avant Quattro 2.5 Tdi, so the 911, all wrapped up in foil on an open tandem trailer, stayed stable and safe for most of the way, apart from some controlled drifts my buddy couldn't resist to do where there was room...
    ; ))))
I had the funny thought, what my car
'might think', coming back to its place of birth, and 'hitting' snow and cold climate for the first time in thirty years!!!!
I reserved a personal plate already...
BB RG 276, what better than my RGruppe member# ????
I hope it will be ready -and licensed in March or so, when they stopped to put down salt on Germany's streets... and I hopefully found a supportive (and half depth ; )))) ) engineer at the German TÜV (obligational technical inspection facility) to pass my car!
And then, seriously I will try to make my trip over there possible, maybe even a double - capturing the RGruppe Monterey meeting...
    Stay in touch...

    Yours Thorsten
