Question oil question re 70 T

I am learning about my new 70 T...upon visual inspection I noticed creamy looking film inside my oil filler neck..my first thought was uh oh but now I ask the board...is this normal condensation gunk?......oil on dip looks cool tho...

Yep, normal condensation gunk...you may want to check the breather hoses leading to the air cleaner housing, make sure they are clear & clean. Also, try to drive in a manner to get oil temp above 180, to evaporate the moisture.

I had that on my filler when my valve guides were shot. Now that they have been replaced, the gunk is gone.

    Joel,

Smoke after deceleration is classic valve guides... (or lack of)

Smoke on hard acceleration is rings... (or lack of)

Change the oil frequently... (if your not going to do the valves soon) ..................... and add a 1/2 pint of Marvel Mystery Oil to your gas and oil about every 2000 miles. No kidding, the old high mileage cars really like it... I know

    Cheers,

Smoke on decelleration could also be oil overfill. A common beginner's mistake...

Smoke on decelleration = valve guides. I ran for 12,000 miles this way at 100-300 miles/quart.

Check me at autox before my top end:

Harry, You could have claimed it was tire smoke...
