Can't read the French, but the 71 911S 2.4L must have a later engine, or at least been oversized at rebuild, correct?
I would think this would harm the resale value, but does not appear to in FR???

Just for kicks I followed up on this auction. The RS #0058 was a no sale, but the 2.4S coupe sold for 43,048 Euros. I would say that seller was pleased.Originally posted by fryardds
George,
I'm with you on the items you listed, although the larger rims aren't that big of a deal to me as I have the same size on my car.
I noticed the listing in the same auction for a silver 2.4S coupe that has an estimate of 38-42K Euros. Boy, the value of the early S cars is certainly very strong now. Wonder what it will sell for?

Hmmm...I was just informed I couldn't edit my own post. So, making another post. An obviously modified and not original '71 S, with a 2.4 (they were 2.2 in '71) and a '72 front splitter got $55K???? What's happening here? Should I ship my car to Europe so I can retire & pay off the house? Oh...forgot...I already did that.

Paul,
The car was produced in 1971, but it is a '72 model based on the VIN of 911 230 1220. As to the condition, who knows. Someone must have thought it is a decent car for that kind of money.

Hey, 246 Dinos go for $70 - $100K, they were direct 911 competition in the day (and relatively high production numbers too). Maybe this isn't a bubble, and the early esses are finally getting to where they should be - value-wise that is.
I always thought low twenties was a heck of a deal for one of the greatest cars of the last century - complete with unparalleled racing history. That's why there's one in my garage!

Paul,
It was the mailmans fault !!
It took 10 days for the post card to get here!!
Next time....................
I do have these moments of temporary insanity...Rick, as you know, I sent that card after Cindy & I were treated shabbily at a PCA function. I was ready to dump the whole P car scene. One couple was especially iiritating. I read the classifieds in THE OREGONIAN daily. Now it kind of amuses me. Those fools knew nothing of the value of a good early 911S, that my car is worth more than their early 996.
