I don't know how I got hooked on the originality thing, but I say don't bore out your original case. More displacement is great, but keep the original case under the bench.

I faced the same dilemma when I did my 914-6. Many folks bore these out for 2.2 pistons, but I just couldn't do it.

That's why I started with a 2.2S and STROKED IT!

I'm in the process of collecting parts for my next motor, a high compression, MFI 2.7S.

    Question 245 HP?

Respectfully, I would like to know what tricks you are going to use to get 245 HP out of a 2.7 MFI engine with E cams.

    All the best!

And I think you forgot $800 to have your throttle bodies rebuilt by Eurometrix. A rebuilt pump is great if the throttle bodies aren't worn out.

    Don't worry it's just more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I will have to agree with my good friend Roger... 245 seems very optimistic

Of course the dyno is the only way to know for sure, but , like the factory, I like to be a conservative when it comes to HP figures...

I have now about 575 break-in miles on my 2.4S -to- 2.7RS/9.5 conversion (500 miles with a 5000 rpm limit and 75 of another 1500 miles with a 6000 limit) and I'll tell you, if I once had anything close to the spec 190 HP of the S motor it would seem now with the 2.7 rebuild I have a-hell-of-a lot more under the pedal then before ... mostly TORQUE!!! ... It also seems that the WebCam regrinds want to keep goin forever, so after the break-in 7300 should get pretty damn interesting ...

All this to say, with all I've done: 90mm 9.5 Mahle RS piston set, WebCams, mild head work, RS spec pump, rebuilt throttle bodies... etc, etc. $, $, $, ...
If I was to dyno anywhere near 220-225 I would be thrilled...

    Cheers,

    231+

I put a '75 2.7 built motor in my Heidi's '73 T RS Bastard Evolution Lightweight. It made 231 on the dyno before the SSIs and the B&B muffler (too dam loud!). I think the pipes must have added something to the hp mix over the '75 system.
