ok, so the options there seem to be:

    1) remain bone-stock 2.4S
    2) 2.4S base w. 2.2S pistons High Compression
    3) 2.4S base w. 2.7RS p/c
    4) 2.4S base w. 2.7RS HC p/c

Assuming that for all 4 options, the base motor needs to be treated, what are the added modifications per item required? Cams remain same? Fuel pump adjust? etc.

Ok, so I've found another set of 7R cases, which opens up all alternatives (and putting away the matching number cases). What's needed for the high compression 2.7RS and what output to expect? MFI pump can handle this? Thnx.

Our 2.7's at 8.4 and 9.2 comp, don't have very much power difference, generally around 225 to 235 hp and not necessarily because of compression. Sometimes a motor just has right stuff and makes power. Rumor has it that Factory motors that made more power were pulled off the line and installed in VIP customer cars. Don't worry about the injection pump, my 3.4 race motor uses a 2.0L pump. They can produce all the fuel delievery u need.

thanks. The funny part is, that experiences from others with upping the compression on a 2.4S by using the 2.2S pistons, (supposedly) makes a huge difference; But upping compression on the 2.7RS doesn't..?
