I'll go with George on this one.. By the way, Evren...for some strange little reason, Cindy asked me to save some of those website wheels pics...

GD!!! That's not fair. I need to find some clueless guy to sell me some nice Porsche parts. So I assume you got a great deal.

The headline on the FT is so appropriate "Buried Treasures". Was that on purpose?

Here's another side by side of an early deep 6 with a 7R:

Evren, if you want to weigh them more accurately with your bathroom scale, hold both of them and stand on the scale. Put them down and then subtract your weight from the gross amount. Doing it this way increases the accuracy of the scale, and doing both wheels doubles the accuracy. When I weighed my 7Rs they were 12lbs too. Deep 6s weighed more.

Any problem running a modern tire without a tube at high speeds (eg on a track) on these early rims?
    Thanks,

I guess it's time to bring out the champagne, then!...

yes, i did get a pretty good deal on them, but I *did* give my mechanic a very nice Craftsman timing light as a new years gift (ok, partly to ease my conscience....) - thanks to Paul and the Albany Sears, of couse. Will definitely be going back to see what other treasures might be hidden in the warehouse.

Neil, pure coincidence w/ the FT (or providence?)

    dvkk, will try that, thanks

    Evren.
