Thread: 195/60-15 on a early 911S?

    195/60-15 on a early 911S?

I have access to a nice set of Pirellis to put on my Americans for the "S". There have been times that I have thought that a 205/60 looks just a little chubby on a lowered car. Has anyone ever run a 195/60?

    Tire size

This may not directly answer your question but I use 195/65 on my 1970 911S. They look a lot skinnier than the 205/60 but they are closer to original so I like them.

I am running 205/60 15s and you are right that they look chubby. There also is a tiny bit of rear fender rub on hard cornering (non-rolled). But I like the look and the contact patch.

195/65 on the deep dish 7's here. Why? 205's rub...plus look weird to me.

PWD are you saying you can not go bigger than the 195 65 on the R wheels without rubbing on a SWB car? I am tire shopping for my 7s now. Thanks,

    Don,

    Paul has the later 7's.....

I'm running 225/50's on my R's on the rear of my 67S, fender lips are rolled, zero rubbing.

Eric nailed it, mine are the later "deep" 7's, with the offset to the outside. "R" wheels are a different thing completely...

Eric also claims to have seen someone riding a Zero Halliburton brief case as a sled this week. You may want to reconsider his opinions.

    Thanks Eric,

What do you think I can fit on the R wheels on my 68? I do not want to roll the fenders. I am trying to buy some race rubber but would like to go taller than a 50 series. Could you please post a picture anyway of your car as 50s may be my only choice. Thanks again for your help.

    Best,

    Don
