    Lightbulb Weight!

    So my question is this;

    I assume that the factory weights of our early cars are indicated when the car is 'dry' - no oil, brake fluids, gas etc...Once we've tanked up with gas, filled with all fluids, etc...how much weight does this add to the factory 'specs.'?

    Gas and oil

    I believe gas weighs 8lbs/per-gallon. Oil is a bit more...

    Curt,

    Gas is about 7 lbs. and water is about 8 lbs... Had to remember that stuff a long time ago for getting right at minimum SCCA class weights...

    I thought that the factory figures were 'wet' with 1/2 tank of gas.

    I also think I remember that a 69' is for sure the lightest long LB stock 911 made.

    Weights

    Given the penchant for shaving ounces off these cars, e.g. removing glove box doors, clocks, etc., for those who want to nail this one down to a gnat's ass, gasoline weighs 5.8 to 6.5 lbs. per gallon (U.S.)--temperature dependent.

    I don't think they ARE dry -- they are according to a DIN spec.

    You would need to look up that (old) DIN spec and find out what it entails.

    I assumed that "curb weight" meant full of all fluids other than gas, tank 1/2 full...All factory tools, carpeting, etc. also in place...
