One guy who was there who maybe isn't familiar to the Early S Registry or R Gruppe crowd is John Walker, who has a Porsche shop (John Walker's Workshop) in Seattle.

One interseting project he recently completed is this 1973 911 Speedster, with a 77 Turbo motor and all steel bodywork.

Thanks, too, to Jack Olson, Roger Grago and others who shared their cars for the Fun Run on Saturday.

    Thanks, Lads!

    Others from the PacWest Region:

    Eric Linden
    Mike Reischl
    Earl Green
    Keith Jones
    Jeff Smith
    Dick Smith

Thanks guys, for the great welcome and friendship. I often call California my second home because of people like Cris, Ernie, Chuck, Roger, Curtis, Dave, Kevin, Mike and Caine. In fact I think a storage locker with an early 911 tucked away next to the Long Beach airport might not be a bad idea ... now to sell that idea to my wife....

P.S. I spoke with John Walker and he was amazed as most of us were.

Thanks, John. I almost forgot - Chris Genau from Seattle was also there and many of you met him. He has a background in mechanical engineering and has built (and almost completed) an RSR "continued production" 911 with real RSR steel flares, 9/11x15 wheels, etc. He has promised me he will join the R Gruppe and reveal his creation soon since Cris gave him a free newsletter.

I had a fun time with all you guys. Thanks Sam for all the pics.

Yeah, I got to take Chris, and also Kevin, out as passengers. Both were great company, and -- unlike my better half -- never told me they were going to call the cops if I didn't slow down.

Thanks Randy. Also thanks for all the introductions over the weekend. For some reason, I have a new found enthusiasm for getting my car on the road .

Glad you guys finally got to meet Chris G, I've been looking forward to his hooking up with the boyz for quite a while- I've seen his RSR project, trust me, it is going to cause a splash when it arrives.
