    Some Cool Cars

It was great to see so many of you over the weekend. The weekend was very packed with all kinds of events, but it was at least one day too short. Instead of attending the festivities on Saturday afternoon I went with my friend Tom (who some of you met) to see some of his cars. I thought I would share some of them with you all even though there are no early 911s in his collection, yet. BTW he was very impressed with the early cars on display at Dunkles.

This is his 1977 934/935. It has an extensive race history in IMSA, first appearing at Sebring in 1977. Dave at TRE knows this car well. When Tom was restoring the car back to 934 specs, from a 935 conversion it went through, he found the original front end of the car in Dave's shop.

    Joel,

Yes it was driven by Ted Fields (of Marshall Fields), Danny Ongais, and I believe Hal Shaw in 1977. And now for the rest of the show....

Brian, Thanks for the memories. Hal Shaw, one of those who drove this 934/935 was a great guy. Cindy still has a "Hal Shaw Racing" T shirt hanging in her closet. Hmmm, funny he didn't give me one. .

Danny Ongias drove this Interscope 935.

Is this the same car after the 935 conversion? If so, looks MUCH better now!

    Jared,

I don't think that is the conversion. Hal Shaw bought the 934.5 in 1978, converted it and raced it along with Meister and Busby. After 1977 it was not an Interscope car to my knowledge.
