    more help

when I start up right now the engine revs up real high.
    what can be causing that?
I have to shut it down right away.
I don't know if it fuel delivery or air?

Did you check all of the throttle linkage? Including the throttle handle between the seats?

NO... what-ever-your-name-is (Man, I'm an old guy that still has trouble with not being able to address someone by name)
    ... it's not the vacuum

The throttle control for your car is totally mechanical...(almost)

Follow it from the pedal (sometimes the carpet gets screwed up)
... out the other end where it exits the tunnel, up to the bell crank, all the way to your throttle bodies...

There has to be a bind, kink, or obstruction somewhere that is inhibiting the throttle from returning to it's normal position.

    Hope this helps...
Good luck and let us know whatsup

Yes, 1/16 is a lot. After removeing the air cleaner, look down the throttle stacks and the butterflies should be closed. I am sure it's a linkage problem somewhere. Did this situation just happen?
