Opinions on cross drilled rotor choices

My crossdrilled front rotors on the 70 "S" have some cracks, so I have them apart to replace them. Is there anything that should be aware of when chosing the rotors? Pelican has them listed for $69 e and Performance Products lists them for $148.00 each. Is there anything different about them that will affect what is basically a sunday driver?
Also, the current pads are in good shape. Should I just go ahead and replace them while I am in there? If so, what is a good quality street pad?
    Thanks for any educated input,
    Dave

For what you are doing I would recommend Zimmerman x-drilled roters and Pagid "blue" pads.

For just performance driving (and even moderate track stuff) you won't go wrong with this set up....

    Just my .02 ........

    Directional?

Are the Zimmermans the same both sides? I ordered a pair and they are the same. I think they look odd on the car....

Who else makes x-drilled rotors? Brembo?

I've got cryogenically treated gas slotted rotors on my F250 Diesel with Performance Friction pads. Porterfield Racing makes a good pad as well.
I like to stop. Going fast is one thing but stopping and handling mean more to me. These things are pigs with stock brakes. Shucks, it's even got Bilsteins and "perfomance" sway bars. Does some of the best 4 wheel drifts in the wet I've ever had the pleasure to experience. Very little sway and completely neutral. Throttle induced oversteer is not an issue. I've got more torque than 3 RS's with some to spare. It does extremely well in dry weather too. Passengers are advised to use the "oh $hit" handle in turns.
I've had more than one driver "go wide" trying to keep up in the turns. Nothing in the world like a 7,000 pound sports car.

    Best,

    Tom

I think we are talking about cornpanzer's 70 911S here and his questions about x-drilled rotors for that.

Yeah Sprint, as you know they are the same on both sides, but don't worry! you'll get used to the look, and more importantly you'll like they way they stop. Get some Hi-perf pads like Pagid's (Pagid "orange" pads are more track oriented as they don't have the best "cold" braking ability, they must be warmed up....the "blues are alot better for sport/hi-perf street applications as they have alot better "cold" pad braking friction)

    Good luck !!!

You might look into the slotted rotors...in a phone conversation I had with Steve Weinert, he preffered slotted to drilled, especially in street cars...

But there's no slotted rotors on the market, right? I don't think I'll make a pretty job of it.

I got some Mintex C-Tech pads. How do they rate vs. the Pagids? I'll try pick up the box tomorrow to see exactly what I have.

I have used the Ate Powerdisc continuously slotted rotor on my '73 and prefer them over any crossdrilled pieces. They are non-directional and should be readily available almost anywhere.

I snoop there all the time. Just sharing an opinion about the gas slots vs. cross drilled.
I cannot imagine that Cornpanzer cannot find these. There must be at least 5 makers of rotors I can think of right off the top of my head.
