Oh man, Chuck, I hope you don't think I was goofin' you ... ... I was taking a jab at corporate America but, once again, inflection doesn't transfer well over the internet.
As far as I'm concerned, they will always be Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Candlestick Park, Jack Murphey Stadium, etc.
Imagine, though, if Willow Springs did get bought out by a major corporation ...
Take for example Nestle ... would you go racing at The Chocolate Speedway?

No problem kiddo... I might be old but I'm still plenty Goofable doesn't mean I won't run over your skinny ass on the track
I've been waiting most of my life for auto sport to become part of the national sports focus... and now it is... and I'm not sure I like it
Oh well...
We do what we do - try to do it well - and try to keep away from those who don't...
More adventures to come...
BTW - Marco, tell your mom she never got back to me on that woman she was gona set me up with... We're not getting any younger...

I've tried to attend the Wine Classic for the last couple years and have always enjoyed it, despite a general lack of early 911's racing that weekend compared to Laguna Seca's Sports Car Invitational. The lineup always includes a great selection of racing 356s, a 906 or 910, an RSR or IROC car, and of course the usual stable of British, pre-War, and Italian machinery.
Since Infineon's invested in the track they've added new grandstands, clean bathrooms, more food vendors, a larger staging area for the cars, covered pit area, a kids play area, and more. But the corral area has stayed on the grassy hill overlooking the course, ticket prices have stayed reasonable, and the racing is great.
Hopefully I can make it again this year . . .

Gary,
let's rally the boyz to come out for this one. I've enjoyed going to this event during its first few years as it always reminded me of what Monterey Historics was like in its early years. Less crowd, more affordable and some real neat cars. Its been a couple of years or so since I went to the last one. I think you and I were hangin out that time too with our kids in tow. remember?
We can make the corral parking limit of 20 and get our own early 911 corral parking. I'm IN and so are the rest of the guyz who will be there.
72 Targa, if you're willing to coordinate the ticket orders, we'll give you a more definitive head count soon. Thank you for doing this.
