    One plate law for two plate states...

    Just found a loophole (for WA residents at least but maybe for all). My 67S has an original 1967 licenseplate that, with a little searching, one could find at a swap (I know a few guys around that do have some for every year back to the 20's for sale if you need one). If one registers their 25+ year old car with a "vintage" plate, they are only required to have the rear plate. I found this out when I was buying a used plate for my 356 and registered it at the DMV. The more interesting part is that there is a one time fee to register it then (think it was $50). Then no more registering per year. I also talked to a State Trooper about this and he mentioned that they tend to not want to pull over cars with vintage plates as they are not shown in their system, hence they have no idea who is in the car or who owns it! Interesting...
