Thread: Alternator Light

    Question Alternator Light

My alternator light never completely goes out when the car is running (73 S). The belt is tight and the charge is normal. Is the light intensity adjustable? Any ideas?
    Thanks

If this only happens at idle, I wouldn't worry too much. Do you know the car's voltage output at various rpm readings? This can easily be accomplished by buying a multimeter....

I found that my regulator was bad. I also removed the alternator and found some damaged wires. It was suggested that I get an internally regulated alternator from a 1974 (I have a 73 with Marchal) Do any of of you have a suggestion and how do I buy-pass the regulator?
