    Thumbs up Great Pictures.

Thanks for showing us the car Tom. The front end is spectacular.

The detailing reminds me of the work done by an old Yankee Porsche restoration specialist right here in Vermont named Rick. Every friggin' nut and bolt!

I'm looking forward to seeing more pics. Thanks again.

    Too nice to drive?

Beautiful restoration. Maybe too nice. After all that time and money spent it would be either deeply gratifying or deeply disturbing to get her dirty. I'd have to drive her.

The rear end is a piece made by Mitcom in the mid seventies. It's surprising to see it on an otherwise-stock-looking restoration. The current incarnation of Mitcom still has the old molds, and when I embarked on my painstaking 12-week ground-up restoration ( ), they made me a new rear panel off of the old mold (for the mid-seventies-style price of $75). My body guy melded it to a fiberglass bumper so there was no excess weight.

Are there more pictures available of the 67s?

So you can still get them, Jack? Do you have contact info?

Not at this point, maybe later.

No web or email, but you can call George at "Fiberglass Trends/Mitcom" (1340 West Collins Avenue, Orange, CA 92867) -- his number is 714-532-6140.

    Nice work!

This guy did some nice work! Now you guys can see what I do every day!
Sure there are some incorrect details, but I am sure it's personal taste. Anyone who restores a car for himself can do it any way he pleases.
It's not often you see a nice restoration on a SWB car. Those cars are more difficult due to parts availibility. ( Bumper trim!!!)
They have vent windows that operate. Try taking the glass out of a moveable vent window frame for rechroming with out bending it !! The 67/68S has unique bumper trim that is unobtainable. Many details are differant than the 69-73 cars.
Nice color on that S also!

I apologize if this is an ignorant question, but I am a totaly newbie to early 911s (but am currently shopping for one in the UK!). Is this dark blue color an original 911 color? I noticed on the owner's website that he says the coloer is Maserati Blue. I have looked at many pictures of early 911s to see what color I wanted, but have not come across this color before.

No, the owner hated the Maserati Blue. The repaint is in a custom color which was based on a BMW paint code, he told me.

ps- if you're looking for the early car colors, see this page on my website. Warning! Image intensive and slow to load! Or see this thread from 2002 which is where the color charts came from.

    Bring it to Monterey

Tom --Great pics. I wonder if you could contact the owner and ask him what event he plans to bring this car to this year. R- Gruppe-Monterey would be nice for starters. Chris 1970 911S 2.2
