    Hi Mark,

    Just checked the book. The hinged rear windows became standard for all RS models June 12, 73' and this car was produced in June so this is likely original. Too bad it has lost it's metal rear bumpers even though it was raced with those on.

    Did any ever turn up?

    Seem to recall that our esteemed Mr Fryar once shared some pics of one --- being loaded onto a trailer, was it? And some comments about the way the doors felt when shut

    . . . anyway --- one Beastie that I would love to have a good close look at, sometime in this life

    Aluminum Cases

    I was going through some old notes and found a couple things that I thought I would add to an earlier discussion about aluminum cases.
    It was confirmed that both Mg and Al cases were produced after the Al case was homologated but very few Al cases have been verified.
    I can add chassis number 1528 to that short list but can not verify the 633 prefix.

    Also, I finally found the information I had on the 2.7 twin plug motors I mentioned previously.

    From the Factory records via Fred Hampton;

    1972 911S 2.5 Chassis #911 230 1632 Motor #6630027 Factory Car with 2.7 twin plug
    1972 911S 2.5 Chassis #911 230 0863 Motor #6639022 Factory Car with 2.7 twin plug

    That second motor number is a strange one. Has anyone seen anything similar?

    I have the engine number for 9112300863 recorded as 6630022 But that my be a typo as that engine number was also used on RS prototype 9113600012 (which was based on a 1972 shell)
    I dont know where i got that from but i think it was from Raj.
