Brown leatherette seats.. what color carpet was stock?

    Hi,

I just ripped out the non original carpet out of my '73S. The CoA says that my interior is brown leatherette. Can someone post pictures of the correct color that goes with my brown seats. I had a really thick brownish/burgandy carpet in there.

I need to replace it with something that looks original. Is there a big difference between the domestic and German carpet from Autos Int'l? Does Appbiz make a decent carpet set?

    Thanks,
    Neil

full beige leather interior, but I think the brown leatherette cars used the same carpet. IF I can make the post, you can see the carpet in this between the seats pic that Evren took when he was here. FUnny, I just sent this pic to Larry...to hopefully answer some carpet questions that he has...

    Thanks Paul,

It's a start... I did notice that your seat rails are unpainted. I guess I need to bead blast mine to get them back to their natural unpainted state.

    Neil,
I am having my sport seats redone by Autos, and I am sending them my rails to be replated. They are nickle plating the headrest posts, and it isn't much more to have them do the seat rails too.

I guess it is just the finishing touches on things.

    Frank:

I am trying to figure out what kind of carpet to put in my 73E. The interior is black, and body Viper Green. Do you know what kind and color of carpeting was appropos?

I see that Paul's carpeting looks like a velour. Is that the same for the 73?

Larry-- I'll bet your original carpeting was the charcoal velour.

    Thanks.

Frank: I thought that the 73S might have the same carpeting as the 73E, depending on the color of your S interior. But thanks anyway.
