    A real 67 S ??

I got some pics of the fwd plate by the bumper and the serial number does not have the S after it like a few of you said an S model would. The top left hand box on the plate does say 911S though. Does this seem right to you guys?? The chassis number is 307363 andthe engine number is 961139. Could someone check to see if that seems like the original engine as compared to the registered S models here. It is in the correct range... any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I want to make sure its an S before I buy.

    No Kardex?

Did you check the VIN stamp in the frame in the trunk area? Also the carbs should be 40IDS instead of IDA. Rear sway bar, Konis and ventilated brake discs all the way around. I'm probably wrong but, I thought the alloy front calipers came out in 68 for the S. Someone please correct me if I'm fried.

The production numbers for the engine and chassis are very close so that the odds are good it is a S. I've heard there are some guys that have verified S's without the S stamp in the VIN plate.

    Good Luck

Both of my 1967S's don't have the S stamped on the data plate by the hood latch.

Once again.......lift up the trunk carpet, and check the number stamped in the chassis just behind the gas tank.....and on the left side as you are facing the trunk.

    My Chassis stamping

My VIN plate (no "S" after the number)

Look for IDS carbs, 901/02 engine type, 7300 rpm red line, rear sway bay, vented discs, 4.5" Fuchs, basket weave on the lower dash.

    Other things to look for:

The door tops on the interior have a strip of aluminum on the bottom edge, as do the ones underneath the rear quarter windows.

The door un latch pushbutton in the interior, should have an aluminum cap at the base of the pushbutton.

The door pockets should bow out at the back end of the door panel.
