    Engine nr. question

Can someone please help me out?

I am looking at a 1969 911E for sale. VIN is: 119220870 (which is a B-serie 911 coupe, produced by Karmann).

However, and now comes the strange part: engine nr. is: 6291703.

According to Peter Morgan this engine nr. does not correspond with neither the VIN of this particular car, nor any other car. I can't find enginenr. 6291703 at all in his book, so I don't even know if it is a 2.0, 2.2 or 2.4.

I read somewhere that Peter Morgans book is not always very accurate, so could someone with another book (Bruce Anderson etc.) please have a look and tell me the origins of this engine nr.?

    Thanks very much in advance.

    Danny

I posted the Stoddard VIN/Engine Type and # charts on my website. You can follow the links posted in this previous thread and look them up yourself. It appears to me to be correct for the car- a '69 911E engine of Type 901/09.
