Hi,

I asked this question a couple of weeks ago, but didn't get a response. Perhaps if I am a little clearer, someone will understand what I am talking about

I am restoring my '73 911S targa. My body guy says that I should get a new door as the bottom of my door is a little too rusty to repair. For some reason he isn't too keen on patching it.

Is there a big difference between a door out of an '80+ 911 and my '73? He offered me a decent '69 door, but it doesn't have a door beam. With huge SUVs all over the road, I really don't want to take a chance on a safety item, even though their bumpers are likely to go right over the door in an accident.

So would anyone notice that my door is from a late model 911 rather than an early one?
