Thread: How Many Decals?

  1. #11
    Larry, left to right:

"alternator and regulator must be from same Manufaturer"

"Tire pressure for speeds over 125"

    "Capacity 620 pounds"...then tire sizes, 165HR15 for T, 185/70VR15 for E and S

"warm engine oil level at idiling speed" then min & max gauge & diptstick given in quarts and liters

    "Valve clearance cold"

    Firing order decal

Randy, GO BEAVERS! I bleed black and orange. Nice recent piece in THE OREGONIAN about the Duck's football recruiting practices, eh? (for those who don't read the OREGONIAN, a bit of a scandal about the $$$$ spent wooing high screw-all jocks)

Curt? Hey, I guess I could have picked a worse NASCAR number.
The lower part of the frame reads "R GRUPPE"...That would confuse a NASCAR fan, wouldn't it?

    Paul,

Big time sports are bad for colleges.... UO does seem cleaner than most.

I have a degree from OSU and used to wear an OSU T-shirt while going to classes at UO (and a UO shirt when visiting OSU).

    Sandy:

Cute idea!! Might cost as much to buy one of those as a Prototipo wheel!!! I think that I would rather have the wheel.

Does anyone have a picture of an original 73 engine lockplate? I may have to add it to the short list of things I am going to look for at Hershey.

    Larry,

Like I said I could give you reference but my ’73 is 2500 miles away from me this week…

However…If you look at any of the 911 picture/reference books there are pics of ’73 lock plates w/stickers.

The lock plate stickers and placement were all the same for ’73 T,E,and S’s … even the RS’s have the ‘second from the left’ blank spot...

If you have an old Tweeks catalog it lists what’s suppose to go back there.

    Hope this helps,

    Chuck:

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at the books. I know that Pelican has a listing of the decals that they have available. I will have to check Tweeks.

    Cheers,
I second "the second from the left" theory. It was intentionally left blank.

    Thanks Tom...

Now, if you only add some contrast to the pic of your beautiful '73 engine, we can answer all of Larry's questions

What??? In '73, they didn't use the "tire pressures for speeds over 125 mph" decal? 31 years ago, Porsche must have caved to "political correctness"...
