Norther Nevada, pretty much the same fuel as Ca. Getting about 18 MPG bombing around the high desert, and up and down the Eastern Sierra's. About 12 MPG going through Carson City and Reno. This is in a 69S, MFI was readjusted last month for Monterey.

My 2.7 MFI motor gets just under 20 if I'm just freeway cruising at reasonable speeds and RPM's (rarely occurs) but more in the 13-15 MPG range tank to tank. I usually am driving the car for fun, so I often hit the redline and am enjoying the sounds our cars make at 5000 RPM's and up....Oh yeah, I always detect that slight smell of gas in the garage after a hard run

I admire those of you with the discipline to get good fuel mileage driving these cars.

My 'almost 20' on the road was under the duress of holiday traffic..
I've probably only made that kind of mileage 2 or 3 times in 22 years.....

    '70 'S' Fuel Economy

    Time for an update

    I had my car's fuel injection re-set-up --- by Marco @TLG, No Hollywood . . . about a year-or-so, ago, now

Spent a whole day, adjusting everything from the throttle plates all the way to the gas pedal

    Car runs perfectly --- starting, warming-up, running . . . everything

    But the biggest change?

    Fuel economy --- ~23 MpG . . . @~75 MpH, too

    .........

    "Highway" cruising 22-23.

    Loud pedaling/around town it's more like 15.

And it is intentionally set rich at the moment. 5%CO at idle

17 to 18 for slightly illegal freeway cruising, rarely ever check it. I could set it slightly leaner, but I don't care to. Real gas would probably be a little better.

    Ol' thread resurrected

2.4 S: 5 km/l on "B" roads, up to 6 cruising on motorway at "legal-to-tolerable" speed (130 to 150 km/h). No much difference on driving style and conditions (track, city, suburban ...)

2.7 Carrera: little more variation on driving style: 4 km/l on track; once made 7 km/l on a 550 km-long motorway ferry transfer at slow speed (100-110 km/h with a couple of overtaking at around 180 km/h).

For both rich mixture, EuroSuper 95 gas. No matter whether you drive fast or slow, fuel consumption is always ridiculously high ... so, better fast driving.
