    potential deal on ebay, 73 911S

    Anybody know this car? It looks good in the pictures, and for the low price it's at with 9 hours to go, its tempting. I asked the seller 3 things, but have not heard back yet.

    The questions were;

    1. What's the deal with the VIN?
    2. Why can't I see $5000 worth of damage in the photo?
    3. Why's the engine out of the car?

    Why does this "S" motor have a green fan shroud and CIS?

    The seller is definitely hiding the true condition of the car. I emailed him about the damage with no response. I'll bet the most current picture of the car would show a totalled wreck if the seller had the integrity to post it. Imagine what the true repair cost would be if he's willing to admit it needs $5K in work.

    The VIN is from a late 70's SC. Beware!

    Weirdest looking MFI system I've EVER seen! Seriously, most people looking for an early 911S know what they are looking for...this is a sad listing for ebay.

    I'll agree. But Jack...I was trying to be as polite as you, after my recent flaming.

    Exclamation No responseeither

    I think the guy is either completely ignorant of Porsches or he's trying to pull a really ignorant scam...the key word is "stoopid".

    No response to me either. Of course I was just baiting him. He's likely gotten hammered by the grand inquisition!

    I wonder what car the high bidder got for $6600.

    This car sold on e-bay a while back. It was advertised as a two owner car, original paint, mint showroom condition. Absolutely zero rust!
