    Kardex Help!!

Trying to decipher an old Kardex that came with a Targa that I have, got some of them figured out, but the following is what I can't decipher....help please!

    9354 - F. Heckse
    9315 - Z. Leist
    9146 - Sperro
    0001 - SG 58
    9254 - Schraegs
    0002 - KFZ BRF
    6853 - BL Metal
    9255 - Schraegs
    9852 - Led B

Additionally handwritten was "Spess differential" "SH Lusk 415"

So far I have figured out that the car came with:

    Antenna Left
    Rear Apron Stainless Steel
    Koln Radio
    Special Color, Metallic Blue
    Michelin Tires
    Sport Seats
    Fog lights, white, under bumper
    Tinted glass all around
    Gas heater
    Michelin Tires

I would be grateful for any help....

    Regards,

    Eric

Can you scan the kardex? If not PM me for my fax number and I can post it for you. Those words alone don't mean anything to my somewhat limited German.

OK, not knowing the part numbers, here is my take on some abreviations, just reading the German stuff and seeing where some of it is placed on the paper:
9354 - F. Heckc: Sounds like Flexible Heckscheibe or Fixe Heckscheibe (I assume the latter which would indicate a glass window as an option for a 68 Targa, the fromer means soft rearwindow)

6853 - BL Metal is in the color section so I assume it stands for blue metallic (Blau Metallic)

KFZ is the abreviation of Kraftfahrzeug ("Civil Cervant" German for car) BRF, no clue - might be Bereifung? (The tires?)

Led B most likely stands for Lederbezug (leather seats) since it is in the Innenausstattung field (Interior)

Sperro is most likey the LSD, the text actually reads Sperrdifferential (LSD)

Z.Leist most likely stands for Zierleiste and might be the Rear Apron or some other extra trim piece

    SG58 - no clue

Schraegs - can only speculate: Scraeg means slope, not even

I hope Georg Rittersbacher had fun with the car

Mike pretty much covered everything I could decipher in that picture. I'd love to see some pictures of you car. There were some interesting options on it.

Is it possible to get copies of the build sheets for more "recent" 911s?

    Mike and Neil,

    Thanks for the help!

Now I am hoping to get a little more specific....particularly with the rear window situation. The car is currently a hard rear window targa.

The car is a 69....build date 3/69, so, well into the model year.

Mike, as you pointed out the 9354 - F Heckse is the rear window, since the 69 model was standard with a hard rear window, I am thinking that this may be a factory soft window targa converted to hard window.

One of the reasons I say this is that there is no rear seats....just the rear seat "delete" cubby holes (they look original to the car).
The rear seat delete was a mandatory safety issue in 69 per Tobias Aichele's book "911 Forever Young".

So, I guess I am on my search for information describing option #9354!

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

I thought the luggage box was only mandatory in the US but I might be wrong.

I checked two books that list numbers for options (Red Book and Morgan's Original 911) but could not find anything on the soft rear window for 1969. Documnetation that I have for my car doesn't give a clue either.

However, 9356 was the number for the tonneau cover for the Targa. At least you are in the right number range

Try Marc Weintraub. He knows everything about softies. Maybe somebody else has some factory info on the option numbers?

    Mike,

I believe you are right on the US vs Euro version of the Targa.....both 911 Forever Young, and Excellence was Expected both indicate 2 versions....

However...they both allude that the hard window was "standard".....or seem to, or maybe it's just me hoping!

I caught that Targa bag option code in P. Morgans book as well....makes me hopeful!

Time to start a new thread!

    Regards, and thanks,

    Eric

I found out a few more of the options:

9315 Z- Leist, is the trim rings for the fender wells

9254, and 9255 Schraegs; are sash type retractible seat belts (which the car does have).

So essentially, I'm just down to the rear window thing....

Not much to look at right now...but here it is.
