    Oil tank replacement

Wanting to replace a damaged oil tank on a 1973 911 - have access to one from a 79 SC. Can I retrofit with this tank - any problems etc to be aware of.
    Thanks in advance.

The later oil tanks are different in a couple of ways.
The connection for the S hose on the early cars is threaded, the later cars use a hose clamp. The oil filter console is slightly different as well.Best bet is to get another early oil tank. You should be able to pick on up for $150 US.

    Kiwi,
I have an oil tank I took out of a 75 that I am holding to convert my sporto to a 5 speed when/if the sporto ever goes south. It looks to be a bolt in replacement to me. Not sure if this helps.
