    Early shift knob?

I know this is a "pre S" question but figure someone here will know: What does an OE '66 911 5 speed shift knob look like? I know it is threaded, but is it round with the shift pattern like later 901 knobs or is it plain and flat topped like a 356? Next question, anyone have the correct OE knob to sell?

1965: mushroom type carried over from the 356.
1966-67: rounded shift knob, screw on type, no shift pattern.
1968+: rounded shift knob, press on type, shift pattern.

i could be wrong but i got the info from johnson's restoration guide. hope the info helps.

I started a thread - related topic and had some interesting responses (as always). I think Bob has it correct as far as I was able to discover. I still haven't found one for my 67 and I have been led to believe if I do it will cost it's weight in gasoline.
