Kurt...perhaps Jens was referring to a series of 6 cars made pre "R" . 6 brought to the USA anyway, for race purposes, were called "rally cars", tho they saw track use here. One of the six was brought in for Porsche Cars Northwest...and I took a few B&W pics of it during it's autocross years. It was called "the silver weenie"...I have a pic of it on my computer, but can't figure out how to post it here...I click on the pic symbol, but then no way to browse my photo file???

Just FYI, the Porsche factory did not make any 911R prototypes. Either the car has a 911R serial number or it's not a 911R. Perhaps the term "prototype" is being used in a loose manner?
