Exclamation HELP !!! ... for the GAF

    Hey guys ... and gals

    Your club needs your HELP...

The German Auto Fest is coming up Sept. 11 - 12 (see our events page)
As most know this year is featuring the EARLY 911
... in other words it's OUR YEAR!!!

As every year, we will have a parking corral for the Early-S Registry and R-Gruppe... and perhaps more.

Mike Hammond will be bringing all the Registry merchandise to sell and he'll be getting help as always from John Dilger, Fred Truman and yours truly.

What's needed is a commitment by a number of you-all to help as well...

Most have supported and socialized with us during the two days ... but this is different, this time we need a definite commitment to help at the sales table.

There's a couple of reasons for this formal plea...

One is obvious... individually the four of us would like the opportunity to enjoy and circulate the event, another reason is that we are actively trying to recruit new board members ... and what better way to get to know someone, and them us ...
... and of course there's always just helping out your club.

Our board meeting is tomorrow and I'll have more info after ...

So... think about it, I'll post a contact number or e-mail soon (probably John D. or Mike H.) ... and we'll see if we can this on the road...

Cheers, and thanks for your support

    I'll be there...

and I would be happy to help out in any way. This way I won't need to bring a lawn chair.

    Here's a flash guys...

As the last issue of the ESSES states:

Starting at the end of September the Registry dues will be $30.00 domestic $40.00 foreign w/still $5.00 for associate.

The 'Ventura Show' (German Auto Fest) will be the last time you'll be able to pay your yearly dues in person at the 'old' rate of $25.00 dom./$35.00 forgn. /$5.00 assoc.... and we accept multi-year renewals !!!!

And if you haven't made a call or sent an e-mail to Mike H. to schedule your help at the event, please do so now...

Ok, how about a little candid info. re:early S registry/bbs. I own two early 911's ('66 and '70T). No S. I find this board the most valuable and informative re: early cars, much more so than the Rennlist or Pelican 911 boards. The R Gruppe is apparently invitation only and neither of my cars is a hot rod, though the '70 is slightly modified (S spoiler, 7" rear wheels). Do I belong here? Have no problem joining, paying dues, etc but I do not own an "S". I hope to drive one of my cars to Ventura next month and park with the other early 911's.

    German Auto Fest

    Chuck:

Are the 911S and Rgruppe cars going to park in a separate area or are they going to be parking with the rest of the early 9 series cars?

Also what are the best hotels in the area to stay at and is there going to be one hotel for the 911S/Rgruppe people?

    Bill,

YES to the first question. The Registry and R-Gruppe will have our own parking area.

As to good hotels ... you might want to check with John Dilger (our events chairman) ... not sure about a central hotel for the rest.
