Chrome sill trim

I have been recently collecting Early 911 wallpaper from various sites worldwide.
Some seem to have a correct dating description and some not.
To help with these dates,can someone confirm when the chrome sill trim and/or the chrome wheel arch trim went from and to?
My memory banks seem to say from '69my to '73my.
Is this correct?

I can only confirm that my car, a 73 E Targa, birthdate 09/72, has according to the cardex "Bright Wheel Moldings." I have been told that this is the chrome wheel arch trim.

Here's a shot of my '73.5. It has been repainted and I do not know if they removed the wheel trim and then threw it away or it was never there.

My memory is that the wheel arch trim was an option...some liked the look, some didn't. I'm among the latter... Maybe somebody who has a car with the trim will post a pic?

Here's a picture that I found quickly of a car with the chrome trim on the wheel wells. I have seen better ones, but this is the best that I can do on short notice.

I know that most people take them off, but I happen to like the way it sets off the color of the car from the darkness of the wheelwell. Oh well.
