It may not look it's best today in this photo, needs a little cleanup and its proper wheels back on with some vintage rubber. I first saw this car in 1977, lusted after it then. Over the years it continued to inspire, never thought it would be under my care, but yesterday it became mine.

Bob.....
cmon..big big tease.
It's a '72S with 2.8 P&C' built by Ed Mayo back in '76-'77 for Charlie Davis. The flairs were added at the same period. I do not have the records yet so dates are approx. Neither Ed, Charlie, nor I can remember that long ago. Charlie did lots of very neat bits on this build. He was the second owner, and owned it from late '73 until now. It has been squirreled away for some time so spring cleaning due.

This is one of the neatest 'barn finds' I have seen...more exciting than finding a stock 'S' with everything still on it. Bob has sent me pics and we have talked about the features, history, records, etc...I am anxious to see it with Harvey done wheels and other small detail adjustments. It is truly a slice of 70s history. Great find, Bob.

Thanks for the kind words, Gib. I just want to say given the use of terms coming under scrutiny this does not fit the "barn find" as its location has been well known all along. While I have spoken with Charlie from time to time about its status I cannot claim to be the one to convince him to move it on. I was just in the right place at the correct time. But very glad for that bit of good fortune.

HRE, Champion, Fiske and Lindsey Racing make nice wheels unless you have another "better" option....:roll eyes:
Great car. I know you're going to have fun.

SUNROOF LONGHOOD !!!!! Have been looking since last summer - finally got a 99% rust-free sunroof longhood.
New to me, arrived over the weekend from West Coast, bought from Freddie Hernandez (saw it first on Pelican, then here on early911S reg, bought it as fast as I could get Freddie to answer the phone).
Was excited to take for a ride but it had gas leak from dried out hoses.
Up on the lift today to see what we have.
1973 911T MFI, matching numbers.
Solid floors, a few sloppy repairs over the years (replacement of front pan and some welding on jack points), a little surface rust here and there, old white paint respray (over Sepia) cracked and chipped.
Replacing all fuel lines, all rubber brake lines with SS, and all cables (clutch, throttle, sunroof).
Will rebuild window regulators and door handles/locks.
Engine leak-down, 4 cylinders at around 5%, two at around 15%. No worries, it is going on the shelf in a few weeks as being replaced by Carrera 3.2L with A/C (compressor from the Carrera, all other A/C parts from a '68 including under the dash unit).
Going to take care of the surface rust right away - very little to address.
Delivered a pile of parts to be added: GTS Classic Sport seats, Racemark Personal wheel, 7R's and deep 6's, Avons, Carrera suspension, new Bilstiens, Elephant bushings, NOS aluminum S calipers, roof rack from Vintage, old Cebie hood lights, pre-73 Euro lenses on turns and tails, aluminum decklid, 5-bar grill, Amco rear bumper bars, restored H4's, dead pedal, Porsche sticker above side molding, chrome fender grills, Talbot mirror, REPA belts, Wevo shifter (and linkage parts) and a few more things I can't think of now.
Should be on the road in a month. First drive will be after the mods.
Going to leave the paint/body as-is for now... patina??? lol
This will be daily driver.
That is my 2010 GT3 on the lift in the background.
