Ahhh, for the good ol' days...Hate to admit it, but I suspect that my car has survived the 34 years past better than I...

    Yeah Mike,

Started go'n to Willow in '66 ... cut'n a school day and sneek'n under the chain and runn'n cars until the sheriff would come... One of those "HEY-YOU-KIDS-GET-OUT-OF-THERE!!!!!"

Yeah Paul - I hear that,

Been installing a new attraction for 'Da-Mouse'... been getting up at 4:15, driv'n the 53 miles to Anaheim from Reseda by 6:30 ... get'n out of the 'Park' buy 2:00, back to my desk in Glendale, then back home. Then do it all again the next day........... tuff on the old bones...

I loved reading the name of one young upstart..."Daniel Gurney".

  7. #17
Danial Gurney........... I think I have heard that name before. Also, there were many others on the list that had a familiar sound. I think some of them whent on to win races. Not sure, I'll have to think about it some more !!

    Boots

    Hey Chuck,
The pic of you holding the pit board at Riverside in 73......Are those a pair of Frye boots you have on?? I have a set in the closet that have been in there for about 30 years that look the same!! If it was warm enough to have your shirt off, ya should have had your sandles on!!
If my father saw you back then, he would say, "that boy needs a hair cut" !!
Now we neither need to worry about that much!!
Great pics Chuck!! Looking at the pics reminds me that the "good old days", are gone for ever.........

    Rick,

All you say is right buddy... except never got into sandals

Almost got kicked out of 'the house' with the hair cut deal...

Davey Jordan sent me that entree list a while back (he's on it) thinking I would get a kick looking at all the names... I stared laughing reading it
thinking it was a joke... then realizing it wasn't, and there was only a handful of national and international driving 'stars' that were NOT on the list...

Unfortunately that was a year before I started going to all the Riverside G.P.'s

    ... and so it goes

There's a book I picked up at the Lit Fair some years ago... it's one of my favorite racing picture books... all in black and white... excellent photography.
