    Porsche got it right!

I've been one of many to bag on Porsche for its recent cars: 996 & Cayenne especially. But, let's give credit where its due- the 997 is fantastic! It looks like a 911 again! I'll never lose my '73, but if I had the scratch, I'd get one, no question. What do you guys think?

I've sounded off on this issue elsewhere. I'm sure it's a great car to drive.

    My suggestion:

Dave, hang in there a few years...your '73 and a 997 will be an even swap. There was a low miles, good looking '96 993, also pretty lines IMHO, for sale at the Parts obsolete meet...owner was asking quite a bit less than I've been offered for my '72...

I think the 997 is a step in the right direction....

all we gotta do now is slam it and strip it, (well, sorta..since I live out here in the desert, I'm gonna need the a/c ) and fer cryin out loud, put some real seats in it...

Oh yeah...and paint it VW light ivory...

    cheers

the 997 like the 996 has too much front and rear overhang.
