    Nice Tom. I photographed the decals on that car for a possible replication of them one day. Gawd that thing looks good.

    I did not think to get a good shot of the sign in front of the car and don't remember reading it at the time. It was parked next to Jerry Seinfeld's 917 and Gmund Coupe, but not sure if he was the owner.

    Isn't that the factory R?

    In anycase, can someone explain something about R exhaust systems to me? Every R I've seen has the straight headers with megaphones, but I've seen exhaust systems as parts, listed for the R, which are a "sport system". Was this simply the street/rally system?

    Also, does anyone have a photo of the "4 out" system mentioned somewhere in a recent thread and know any history on it?

    And a final point, the quality I find most interesting about the low-production number cars, is the variations from one car to the next. Sure, many have been changed and tweeked for racing by their owners over the years, but even the factory had variations and improvements, as each new "number" came of the hand-build line. It raises a lot of issues and challenges in the restoration process; who's "version" of the car do you restore to?
