    Hi Dave,

Yeah, fog relay listed. Part number 911.615.109.01. It's a general purpose relay used in several applications. On your relay panel to the left of your fuse panel there are 4 positions for the circular relays. Position one is at the bottom ending with position 4 at the top. Position 1 is horn, Position 2,3,4 are configurable depending on options. You could run position 2 for fogs, 3 for driving lights and 4 for air conditioner if you have all of those options.

Now, is it needed? As far as wiring, my diagrams show direct wiring to the fogs from the switch through the fuse without a relay. I'm assuming the relay would be needed for the Euro fogs cause I think those ran 55W not the US 35W. Good idea running relays no matter the wattage. Saves the switches from the higher current. The bad news is my wiring does not show terminal numbers. I'll draw up a quick diagram sice I don't have a scanner.

I'm going out on a limb and judging from other switch wiring that shows terminal numbers (of Course ) that the K terminal is the common (chassis ground) and will have two brown wire attachments at the same spade. Two of the other terminals will have a jumper from one spade to another. This is the load side of the switch which in turn powers the fogs through the fuse and the indicator light. The other spade is the hot lead which is activated through the main headlamp switch. I'll try and draw it up and attach it as a picture.

Cool! Thanks man! I am pretty good diagnosing existing wiring issues but I have trouble when forced to start from scratch.
Any help you can give is mucho appreciated.

Wouldnt the indicater light be linked to one of the hot leads? Or does it already have power and the ground connection completes the circuit?

Well if you look at the drawing the hot comes from fuse 6. If you imagine the switch pulling down the cross line at the top bridges between the fuse 6 line over to the fuse 5 line. This is now the hot to the fogs. At that same terminal the jumper that runs down to the indicater makes the circuit to the indicator bulb. The negative or chassis is always connected to the bulb. Only the hot gets switched.

I am going through this right now too...

I have removed my factory fogs and am proposing to use the existing switch and wiring for upgrading to through the grill (ttg) driving lights. I have been informed that an additional relay is required to comply with the increased amperage requirements.

I am electricaly challenged and will refer to others for this modification...but, Michael knows his stuff.

I even have a full set of factory shop manuals with electrical diagrams that I can send/post but not interpret...if that helps.

    Shawn.

edit: damn you guys are quick!

Ahhh, I see! Now, what if I used a factory relay?

BTW, check your PM's regarding the NOS switch you wanted.

I edited the drawing as I had one wire out of place but the result is the same. The jumper for the indicator light is external to the switch from spade to spade.
